What is an Icon?
by Michael Feeley
A LEADER. A legend. An image or a symbol that stands for something and doesn’t necessarily mean for good.
Mickey Mouse – The Eiffel Tower – The Panama Canal – Tiffany – Nike – Ferrari – Empress Wu Zetian of China – Attila the Hun – Stalin – The Holocaust – Harriet Tubman – Audrey Hepburn – Paul Newman – JFK – Bayard Rustin.
– How do you show up in the world?
– What is your personal and professional message, brand, and story?
– How do you want to be seen and remembered?
We are each an icon and hopefully in some celebrated, respected, and prominent way – from children on playgrounds, to families and company employees and world leaders. You can be a bully or a benevolent, inspiring human being.
