Supporting You in Your Desire to Change
by Michael Feeley
I’ve been thinking about time. All of it. Earth formed 4.54 billion years ago. Our early ancestors walked upright about 6 million years ago. Modern humans arrived about 300,000 years ago. Civilization began about 6,000 years ago, when we first built cities. And here I am, nearly 75 years into my turn. Set against those […]

At 74, I know something most younger people spend enormous energy avoiding: time is finite. And oddly enough, knowing that — really knowing it — is one of the most liberating things that has ever happened to me. The shift for me wasn’t dramatic. There was no crisis, no dark night of the soul. I […]

Time isn’t your enemy. It’s your guide. “You have two hours for this exam.” That’s not a prison sentence—it’s permission to focus completely for 120 minutes. No yesterday, no tomorrow. Just now. Even that ten-minute bank login window? It’s teaching you something: urgency clarifies. Limits liberate. We’ve been sold a lie that time scarcity creates […]

Time moves forward, and we move with it whether we realize it or not. We can view time as a friend and on our side—something to work with. Or we can see it as something to compete with, which can feel pressuring, something to control, race against, or beat out. Even with deadlines, we can […]

You physically change as you mature, and you may think the bloom is fading off the rose. However, you could choose a better mindset and see that you still have new sprouts to nurture and grow, new possibilities to consider, and new opportunities to create. Aging has me know that my time is limited, yet […]

Set your daily schedule the night before or first thing in the morning. Set a time to start and finish, and schedule an entire day off. Scheduling means a set routine, an established practice for studying, writing, reading, producing art, developing business and products, servicing clients, and doing home chores so you can maintain things […]

HOW WILL YOU own your time? Will you choose to watch YouTube videos, organize your calendar, clean emails, polish your silver in July for Thanksgiving, organize your dresser sock draw or edit your book? What will you do to create the things you know are necessary? What contributions do you intend to make to humanity? […]

HOW I SPEND my time is important to me. Sometimes I’m proud of how I use my time, and other times I have wasted time, and I know I can never regain lost time. Time is valuable. Time is right now. Time is consistent. Time goes on. I know I have a limited amount of […]
