Find the Right Place to Thrive
by Michael Feeley
I HAVE A RED Flame Begonia in a large pot outside under an arbor covered by Virginia Creeper. It has been there for many years.
I never bring it inside during the winter. It drops all its leaves and rejuvenates in the cold. It survives, returning in the Spring and blooming all Summer into the Fall.
This Begonia has found its home – the right place – the right amount of sun, shade, and water to thrive.
We are like this Begonia plant. We must find our place in the world—the right location and conditions to thrive in life and work.
Even when we feel like we’ve lost all our leaves and color, we can still renew ourselves and flourish brilliantly.
My Begonia shows this. It gives me tremendous hope and inspiration. What power, strength, and resilience this graceful plant has.
We can learn about ourselves from anything in the world. The world guides us. We are connected to everything.
