Culture is Everywhere

CULTURE IS ALL around you. It’s in you.
There are many different things to understand and respect in culture – knowledge – ideas – values – attitudes – manners – race – dress – language – religions – arts – rituals – customs – beliefs – practices – history – social behaviors – choices.
I love how author, entrepreneur, and teacher Seth Godin defines culture with simplicity, depth and humor:
“This is how things are done around here.”
It makes sense, right?
– Think how nature does things.
– Think how a government does things.
– Think how a parent, boss, teacher, minister, lawyer, builder, housekeeper, baker, taxi driver, dive instructor, real estate agent, life coach, writer, comic, movie director, yoga teacher does things.
People are culture, and it’s filled with diversity – particular and expansive wonder and facts – individual and collective tribes, organizations, groups, folks.
Look at where you experience and share culture – at home – work – social gathers – personal relationships – learning – restaurants – supermarkets – shops – services – products+++
Culture is a fantastic thing. It’s everywhere. Let’s welcome and explore culture.
