Triggers Create Change
by Michael Feeley
Triggers are a kind way to create change.
If you want to change something and remind yourself to work on it, create a trigger and transform your mindset.
– If you want to drink more water, keep a bottle on your desk, next to your bed, and on the kitchen counter to trigger your choice to drink more frequently.
– If you don’t want to sit too long at your desk, set a timer for 45 minutes to ring, and that will get you up and moving around. Choose to walk outside for 15 minutes.
– Leave a book on your bed so you can choose to read ten pages before you nap or go to sleep at night.
You’re creating external alerts to support internal change setting up conditions to build a new habit.
Change only happens when you commit to your desire for change.
