The Irreplaceable Gift of Time
by Michael Feeley
Time is the one currency we can never earn back. Once a moment passes, it’s gone forever—no refund, no exchange, no second chance.
Sometimes I wake at 1 am, my mind stirring. But I choose to return to sleep until 5 or 6, because rest isn’t negotiable—it’s essential to our well-being. This isn’t wasted time; it’s invested time. There’s wisdom in knowing when to pause and when to push forward.
The real waste happens in those hours we fritter away on mindless scrolling, endless procrastination, or activities that leave us feeling empty rather than fulfilled.
Look back at your yesterday. How much of it truly mattered? How much aligned with what you value most?
We often live as though we have infinite tomorrows. We don’t.
This isn’t meant to create anxiety but awareness. Be intentional. Choose activities that nourish your soul, strengthen your relationships, and move you toward your purpose. Say no to what drains you. Say yes to what matters.
Your time is precious. Irreplaceable. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
Ask yourself: How will I spend today?
