Plan and Spontaneity
by Michael Feeley
WE PLAN THINGS, and sometimes they don’t work out. Something unexpected, spontaneous happens.
– You set up a Zoom call for a job interview, and the electricity goes off.
– You get a surprise test from your pathology professor.
– You need five more hotel rooms, and everything is booked solid.
You hope for smooth sailing, and guess what? You get stormy weather.
You’re in the midst of Plan and Spontaneity.
Order and Surprise…
Organization and Chaos…
Resistance and Yielding…
For and Against…
Change and choices are always around, and we can oppose them and be inflexible, or we can be open and welcoming –
go with the flow – roll with the punches – create plan B and make things work.
The danger is to fight spontaneity and surprise – to try and manage the world – to have things on your terms without respect and care for people, choices, work, schedules, and needs.
Speedbumps, ruts, potholes can happen anytime, and we need to relax, reassess, be resourceful, resilient, creative, available.
There are many different ways to understand the forces of the world – the opposites – and how they live in and around us.
It’s an incredible and playful study.
Thanks – Michael (he, him)
Please make a plan to share this Daily and see what spontaneously happens.
