Find Work That Matters

by Michael Feeley
The work you do to make a living is usually work that helps other people.
It’s work that matters. Work that creates a positive change for people in some way.
Work that you like makes you proud because you and your labor make a difference.
How does a housekeeper’s work matter?
What about your accountant?
What about the post office and mailing a letter or package?
Sure, sometimes you take a job to get a paycheck to live, and you may not like it, but if you look at that work, it does benefit other people in some way, so the work matters. There is gratitude you can feel and gratitude from the people you serve.
Work that matters isn’t always about a big salary but rather the quality of life, your valuable skills, and using your experience to give back.
Who do you want to be at work?
What will make work meaningful to you?
How is your present work helpful to others?
This week, ask one person to tell you why and how your work is valuable to them and others.
Always try to find work that matters to you and others. It makes life so much better.
