Create Your Opportunities
by Michael Feeley
WHY WAIT FOR opportunities to arrive when you can create your own?
If you want to work with someone special, write a letter expressing your gratitude and admiration for their knowledge and what it means for you to work with them. Let your desire, hope, and yearnings be known.
Audition for plays.
Send your writings to ‘The New Yorker.’
Blog and publish every day.
Present your paintings at art shows.
Skate.
Play tennis.
Race.
Send your resume.
Ask for what you want and say why it matters.
Be known – be expressed – don’t be a shadow in a crowd.
Study – learn – practice your skills.
Keep doing.
Be present.
Open your own doors and windows.
Show Up – Show Up – Show Up.
Standout.
Be unforgettable.
If people don’t know you and what you want, how can they help you?
It’s my experience that people want to help and like helping others be happy and successful.
