Aging Connects

by Michael Feeley
Aging touches everyone’s lives in different ways—whether we’re navigating our own aging process, caring for aging family members, or considering the broader societal implications of our aging populations.
Two questions become increasingly important:
How can we stay connected with others and avoid loneliness?
What will inspire positivity in mind and heart as we age?
I’m passionate about quotes—they teach me about myself and the world around me in diverse and unlimited ways.
Try this simple exercise that can transform how you view aging:
Do a search for “Brainy Quotes on Aging” and explore what comes up. Find one quote you like that expresses you. Then share it with another fellow “sager” on this journey.
Here’s one of my favorites, from Carl Jung:
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are, and that privilege doesn’t expire with age.”
Something beautiful happens when you engage in this quote-seeking process. Connection, energy, curiosity, inspiration, and empowerment multiply.
Now I’m connected to Carl Jung, continuing to be curious and study his perspective on aging. This helps me answer my own questions while becoming more helpful to others as a career and life coach who is actively maturing.
I’m also connecting with you as you read this, and with others wherever I share this Daily.
We’re building a community of sage-ing seekers, vintage goddesses, and warriors, champions, and rebels of change.
The same principle works with books on aging. Find one that speaks to you, read it, and share it with others. Each book becomes a bridge to new understanding and connection.
Consider exploring:
– Thought leaders and experts on longevity
– Organizations dedicated to aging research
– Mature individuals who are still actively working on their “next act”
– People whose careers demonstrate that age isn’t a limitation—those who powerfully declare, “I’m not done yet!”
Perhaps most importantly, ask yourself:
How does maturing help you continue creating your authentic self—who you truly are?
Aging isn’t about diminishing or fading away—it’s about the privilege and thrill of becoming your essential and best self.
Your journey of becoming doesn’t end with age. In many ways, it’s just getting started.
