12 Provocative Quotes for Indulgence
by Michael Feeley
WHAT ARE THE PLEASURES, desires, passions and gratifications you want and enjoy?
Maybe it’s shopping, getting a massage, eating at your favorite restaurant, walking along a beach, traveling, being alone, being in love.
You have the freedom of indulgence
Be extravagant. Allow yourself to think and feel and do what you please and hopefully…everything you do will make your life better. Stronger. Enabling you to live in happiness.
You’re in charge of your life. Every action, choice and intention you indulge in guides and shapes your destiny.
I’m reminded of these words from the Upanishads –
You are what your deepest desire is.
As is your desire, so is your intention.
As is your intention, so is your will.
As is your will, so is your deed.
As is your deed, so is your destiny.
12 Indulgences
Here’s an opportunity to satiate yourself with thought…change…possibilities…truth.
Give yourself permission to indulge in these 12 quotations. Treat yourself. They express your deepest desires – caring for individuals, being of service, giving without thought of getting, making wise choices. Each one is a gift.
– How do they stimulate the best things in your life?
– What do they do to your mind, heart and all your senses?
– How do they guide, control, fulfill and impel you?
Indulgence has energy, enthusiasm and purpose. It calls to you and asks for something. Listen well. Indulgence is irresistible.
It can be deeply religious and honor the highest of rituals such as good will and gratitude, which are indulgences deep within our nature and they have much to teach us.
There is nothing wrong with indulging yourself. Usually it’s seen as something forbidden. Something you shouldn’t do. A weakness you go to or give into. You can indulge yourself and be strong — increase yourself – not lessen who you are or betray your values.
Please – enjoy, play and celebrate these words. Find relationship and value in them for yourself and others.
