You’re a Hybrid

by Michael Feeley
You and I are hybrids. Right now, as you read this, we are creating something new together.
Look around. We all are.
The child of parents from different cultures may switch languages mid-sentence.
The remote worker is present in both physical and digital spaces, working in a coffee shop while connecting with fellow workers in different offices online.
You, thinking with AI, expanding what your mind can do alone.
We combine different ways of thinking because we live between worlds. Same earth, different places. Same goals, different paths. We want good lives, and we find them by mixing what we inherit with what we discover.
Your body carries ancient DNA and modern medicine.
Your mind holds childhood memories and smartphone habits.
You work solo and with others. You are yourself and part of something larger.
This is everyday Hybridity. This mixing isn’t new – it’s human. What’s new is how fast it’s happening and how many combinations and opportunities are possible.
Hybrid spaces: offices where some people sit together and others join by video.
Hybrid thinking: your intuition and originaity plus AI analysis.
Hybrid identity: who you were raised to be plus who you choose to become.
It’s exciting to see yourself this way. Not as a single fixed entity, but as a combination that keeps evolving.
Where do you see yourself as a hybrid?
What hybrid communities are you part of?
