What Would You Do?
by Michael Feeley
WHEN I Coach Executives, I’m curious and eager to ask one question:
If you lost your job tomorrow, what would you do?
Immediately, they have an answer – an inside dream story.
People have told me:
– I’d write a book and run my own publishing house.
– I’d open a woodworking shop.
– I’d teach tap and ballroom dancing.
– I’d move to a Caribbean island, and live the dream.
– I’d get a divorce and find real love.
– I’d build a yoga and wellness retreat on and offline.
– I’d open a music business finding people classic vinyl vintage jazz records.
– I’d travel.
Then, I naturally dig deeper with some obvious questions:
– What are you waiting for?
– What stops you from setting free your dreams and building on some of the plans now that are already stirring in you – just the way you built your career as a CEO, CFO, or HR Director?
– How can you create your own opportunities starting today?
(I have disrupted some companies because I dared the person to do what they truly desired, and the executives took their dream advice and jumped right into the life they most yearned for.)
Why not? There is no re-run, return, or refund for an incomplete life.
You get one chance to live the life you want. Make it count. Play full out!
Dare your ‘Self’ to change into your dreams.
