What Can Stress Teach Us
by Michael Feeley
Stress reveals what matters most to us. When we feel it, we’re receiving information about our values, our limits, and where we need to pay attention.
The goodness in stress? It shows us who we want to be when life gets hard.
Yes, we could fixate on vindictiveness, politics, cultural battles, and money worries. We could let other people’s meanness define our days. But there’s a better choice.
Stress teaches us how not to treat others. It reminds us that we control only our own response.
When someone acts with malice, we can respond with goodwill.
When hatred appears, we can choose gratitude.
This isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom.
Stress is asking: What kind of person do you want to be in this moment?
The answer is always ours to give.
