Understand the Problem
by Michael Feeley
Before embarking on the problem-solving journey, it’s crucial to understand the problem. This involves studying and immersing yourself in it, knowing what it is, and what can be done to achieve the desired positive result.
When it includes others, you should look and listen, honor the opposition, be open to suggestions, and be willing to compromise so all parties get a solution, not a standoff.
Focus on others and not just yourself.
Keep going until there is a reasonable change.
Keep asking – What is goodwill?
