Uncover, Discover or Leave Things Alone
by Michael Feeley
I’ve been cutting back brush and overgrown weeds at my house and discovering new terrain, beautiful rock formations, plants, and spaces I haven’t seen in a year or two. I’m delighted, grateful, and emotional to rediscover all this.
The brush and weeds aren’t wrong. For some people, they are okay with them.
It makes me think—what about our personal internal terrain? What do we have hidden underneath things in ourselves and our surroundings?
What is in closets, drawers, garages, attics, books, and car glove compartments, and what is inside of us to discover or rediscover and think about? Our thoughts, feelings, dreams, ambitions, skills, and maybe unfinished projects and hopes.
You can leave things as they are or be curious and adventurous about yourself and the world around you. You can learn and create, and you will change as you do this.
(Yes. This photo is my backyard in discovery process.)
