Time Is With Us
by Michael Feeley
Time moves forward, and we move with it whether we realize it or not. We can view time as a friend and on our side—something to work with. Or we can see it as something to compete with, which can feel pressuring, something to control, race against, or beat out.
Even with deadlines, we can maintain a sense of organization, peace, and productivity. It’s a choice. Time is with us.
Two people facing the same deadline can have completely different experiences. One feels hunted, the other feels focused. The deadline hasn’t changed. Their relationship with time has.
Time is like the ocean’s tide—constant, inevitable, but navigable if you understand its rhythm rather than fight its force.
The people who struggle most with time are often those trying to hold it back or race ahead of it, exhausting themselves against something that simply is.
Maybe the question isn’t about having more time but about being present in the time we have. When we’re fully present, time seems to expand. When we’re scattered across past regrets and future anxieties, even abundant time feels scarce.
How do you see time?
What relationship with time do you want to have?
