Thankful or Thoughtless
by Michael Feeley
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE between:
Waiting for a long time listening to a recording – “Please hold. Your call is important to us.”
And…
Having a real person pick right up – “Hello. How can I help you?”
What do you do when someone shops for you, organizes your groceries, packs them in their truck, and delivers them to your home?
Do you tip them or not?
You rent a home for a vacation. The housekeepers and maintenance people prepare it for you and serve you during your stay – changing sheets and towels, cleaning, and maintaining the pool to look nice.
At the end of your stay, will you write a thank you note and leave some money or do nothing and act like the service was included?
Caring – expressing your gratitude to others who help you and improve your life is a crucial, humane choice.
How much do you appreciate other people and their work?
Will you choose to be:
Generous or Cheap?
Supportive or Cold?
Thankful or Thoughtless?
