Responsibility

Responsibility means you made a promise — to yourself, to the world, to both.
That’s the heart of it.
Whatever you commit to, whatever duty you take on, it doesn’t stay contained. It moves. Outward from you into the world. Inward from the world back to you. Self and World. World and Self. The order doesn’t matter. The consequence always does.
Care for yourself and you become capable of caring for others. Care for others and something in you deepens, steadies, grows.
This is cause and effect at its most human.
Your thoughts have weight. Your actions have reach. The ripple goes further than you see. Which means the choice — whatever it is — deserves your full attention.
Be responsible. Be awake. Be wise.
What you commit to, you become.
And what you become touches everything.
