Overflow with Gratitude

by Michael Feeley
There’s nothing wrong with overflowing gratitude.
Let gratitude spill out over everything. It won’t harm the tablecloth, warp the floor, stain your clothes, or hurt other people’s feelings. Gratitude doesn’t spoil anything.
Be generous with your thanks. Gush with appreciation – liking – and love for other people and things.
Why be restrained and tight? Be free and abundant with gratitude. Go overboard and say what you feel. You won’t drown in gratitude, even though gratitude is bottomless and vast.
Why fill a wine glass half full when you can give more than the standard, measured $9 worth only to the bell of the glass?
Gratitude is a very exact thing. It’s richly specific, and when you express it, it overflows and becomes unlimited. Boundless. That’s the nature and glory of gratitude.
