Not Done Yet
by Michael Feeley
You don’t feel old. You don’t feel like a senior. You’re not there yet.
Good. Hold onto that.
Because the culture will try to talk you out of it. It will hand you a script about slowing down, stepping back, making room. It expects you to accept less — less ambition, less drive, less future.
Refuse it.
Yes, the body has its own opinions. Some mornings it votes differently than the mind about rise and shine. That’s honest and real. But the mind? The drive? The hunger to still build something, learn something, give something?
That doesn’t age.
Right now I’m relearning French. Still coaching. Still writing every day. Still dreaming of a second book — Becoming Vintage. Not winding down. Fully in.
That’s what a Sager looks like from the inside. Not finished. Not fading. Not ready for less.
Still curious. Still arriving.
The most dangerous thing about feeling “not there yet” is realizing — that feeling is exactly right.
Vintage isn’t where you end up.
It’s how you keep going.
