I Write for People 50 – 80+ Years
by Michael Feeley
I don’t write for the masses. I write for people 50 to 80+ years old who are not ready to retire and end their beloved work.
They are people who choose to keep taking action and giving to others.
They have abundant transferable skills they use in their present jobs and prize in new careers they are bravely leaping forward to build.
They are sages, vintage individuals who are only getting better with age. They are classic, valuable, and not silently fading away.
Many followers believed their skills were limited and only workable in their present or past careers.
They felt stuck and unable to see that their life experience, gifts, abilities, credentials, attitude, successes, and even failures are all needed and easily transferable to any other career they want to shift into and create.
The people I connect with want to be respected for their knowledge. They want to share what they know. However, they fear that they will not be seen as relevant and that their lives could seem meaningless. It’s not true. It’s resistance at its meanest. Sending an insulting message that they are slowing down and past their prime and worth.
These people have authority, the wisdom and energy to take action and do more because they want to and can. They know they matter, and their work makes a difference in the world.
I’m grateful to have some understanding of the people I work with as a career and life coach and writer because I am one of those vintage people myself who cares and is driven to keep going, giving, learning, changing, and helping others to do the same.
Life is precious and exciting to me, and so are my dreams. I have many more encores to offer, as do the people I value, coach, and write for.
