How Do You Describe Yourself?
by Michael Feeley
I AM THINKING about a cufflink. One word that accurately describes what that object is and does.
It links or holds a shirt cuff together.
Then I went to town thinking about all kinds of words and how they specifically describe things and people; helping us know what they are and what they do – paper clip – frying pan – garden hose – lunch menu – screen door – key – chef – housekeeper – taxi driver – gardener – diver – road sweeper – garbage collector – painter – shop owner – water – sunshine – olive oil – green leaves – hot – cold – dry – wet – happy – thankful+++
Teacher is how I describe myself along with – life coach – encourager – real estate broker – writer – human being – man – husband – friend – creative – and personal gender pronouns (PGP) “he/him.”
It’s empowering that a few letters coming together describe who we are and help others know us – to connect and communicate with respect.
What word describes you accurately?
Thanks – Michael (he, him)
