Exploring AI

by Michael Feeley
I’m exploring AI (artificial intelligence) and gladly learning about its advantages.
I’m also focused on people and their value over a ‘bot’ (robot, machine, technology).
Yes. AI has replaced people in jobs and also created jobs.
I can see that this system can quickly come up with answers, ideas, and solutions that can help me in my work, a tool that assists me in exploring new possibilities and expanding my learning and creativity. Seemingly going deeper than the internet.
AI is an opportunity to try something new, to watch and grow, and to be open to change and opportunities as I evaluate and practice its value.
Does AI care? I don’t know.
I don’t think it can replace a personal or business relationship – a human being to a human being (H2H). The live connection. The grappling with building something with my effort, the ups and downs of working to make something. The concerns, stops and starts, successes and failures. The pleasure of emotions, even the raw, uncomfortable struggle when you need and want to apologize and fumble about to say you’re sincerely sorry, so you can rebuild the trust and good feelings people share. The human imperfections that matter because you want to make things better.
How much trust does AI create? I’ll be finding out as I learn more.
How curious is AI? I don’t know yet.
AI does seem remarkable and resourceful.
