Drop Into Your Heart
by Michael Feeley
Your mind is a brilliant tool. It weighs, measures, plans, and protects you. Logic matters.
But when a decision truly counts, you usually follow your heart.
As a career and life coach, one skill I practice with the people I work with is simple and powerful. I ask them to drop from their mind into their heart and look for the answer there. It’s deep work. And it works.
The mind will hand you a list of pros and cons, along with every reason you might fail. The heart tells you what you want. Often, the answer has been waiting there all along, patient, until you’re willing to listen.
You can try it right now. Stop. Breathe. Place a hand on your chest if it helps. Then ask:
• What is my heart serving me?
• What is it calling me toward?
Don’t argue with what you hear. Don’t edit it. Just listen.
Your heart knows your hopes and dreams. It also knows which concerns and fears you’re ready to release.
Why not let it guide you?
The practice only asks that you be willing to try, and that you trust what comes.
