Determined

by Michael Feeley
There are two kinds of determination.
You’re determined to live a good life and succeed in all ways, and it includes the help and wisdom of other people. It’s driven by genuine values and goals that matter to you and that you feel true to yourself and what you are going to achieve. It is energizing and positive.
Or
You’re determined to do things your way. You may ask people for help and act as if you care and are listening, but you still believe your way is best. This choice is driven by fear. Fear that you will lose control and fail. It can also leave you feeling hollow, lonely, and unable to trust and value other people. Ego and superiority run high here.
You’re either open to learning and change, or rigid, inflexible, stubborn, and closed off.
One way seems good, healthy, kind, and beneficial to you personally, and the other way is self-limiting, hard, even cold, and closed off to your possibilities.
Which determination are you choosing?
