Community and Gratitude
by Michael Feeley
WITH THE HOLIDAYS growing and blooming, a large feeling of gratitude is present.
The community I live in is pretty friendly and supportive. It’s small so there’s gossip and a few people who like to go out of their way to cause trouble on social media and then carry it over into some surprising unnecessary verbal bullying when you’re minding your own business.
Overall there is gratitude, kindness, positivity, generosity, and goodwill.
The limited mean people in the community, who live with a lack of gratitude, negatively brand and isolate themselves, where people laugh at them and see their ill will as stupidity.
We each make a choice, moment to moment, to treat people with respect or contempt – to be kind or mean – grateful or resentful.
How do you want to live your life?
How do you want other people to see you and talk about you?
What opinion of your ‘self’ do you want to feel?
