Community
by Michael Feeley
A flock of birds.
A field of corn.
A school of fish.
A hive of bees.
A cluster of roses.
A parking lot of cars.
An orchestra.
The aisles of a grocery store.
A class of students.
A town hall meeting.
A library of books.
Each one a collective. A group with purpose and connection.
The bees pollinate our food.
The cars carry us home.
The cereal aisle feeds our families.
The orchestra moves us.
The library shapes us.
None of it exists without us — and we don’t exist without it.
We are all community.
What is community to you?
What communities are you part of?
