A Mindset is a Flexible Thing
by Michael Feeley
A mindset reflects how you see the world.
We each create a mindset based on our feelings, values, and beliefs about nearly everything.
Mindsets are choices. They are flexible things. You can change and reset your mind quickly or keep a fixed mindset.
Mindsets are both positive and negative attitudes. They are for and against things.
An athlete trains to improve and be the best they can be. They have goals and usually love the sport they work at. Often, it includes competing and the desire to achieve, win, and set records. Most athletes show up to do their best, to be true to their skills, and to support their fellow athletes; others choose to beat down their competition. It’s a mindset of ill will over goodwill. I win, you lose attitude.
You choose the mindset of hoping good things happen for others or not.
You can have a mindset to lead or to follow.
To be closed or open.
To be kind or ruthlessly selfish.
To be generous or tight.
To have respect or disdain.
To help or harm.
Aim high or settle for good enough.
See how mindsets work. Awareness about your mindset is thrilling, as is making the best mindset choices for yourself and others.
