WHY DO I write and publish something daily without fail?

I wanted to do this for a long time and couldn’t figure out how and where, and I was afraid to do it because it was such
a significant commitment and self-promise.

In February of 2020, I learned how in TCW – The Creative’s Workshop. One of the suggestions – a magnificent and inspiring challenge by Seth Godin – was to build a Daily Practice – to create and ship something to the workshop and specific people and even beyond the workshop – out into the world.

A painting, a piece of music, sentences for a screenplay, business plans. Whatever mattered to you.

That hooked me right to my center, and I went off creating Dailies because I was willing to try. Today, I am shipping Daily #1372.

What I learned most in this Daily Practice was to trust my ‘self,’ and that trust spread out into my work and my smallest viable audience.

It’s my happy, loving promise to show up every single day, no matter where I am and what is going on in my life, with some writing and a photo, I feel expresses me – shares something meaningful, helpful – something that will create change and awareness for other people – something that might turn on a light, throw open a door or window, allow someone to climb over a barricade to freedom and ease and motivation and joy and love and relief and wonder and gratitude and anything else that a person wants and needs to live well – to feel alive.

Dailies are a call to action where I consistently post on my coaching website – LinkedIn – Commit2Change (permission mailing list.) It’s my discipline – repetition – spontaneity – plan – and to do it better and better and better – again and again and again. Dailies are enthralling to me.
