Your Heroes

by Michael Feeley
Who are your heroes?
Who are the specific people past and present that you respect and love?
Here are six of many for me:
Helen Keller – American author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer.
Rosa Parks – American activist in the civil rights movement, best known for her pivotal role in the Montgomery bus boycott.
Gloria Steinem – American journalist and social-political activist who emerged as a nationally recognized leader of second-wave feminism in the United States in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Bayard Rustin – American political activist, a prominent leader in social movements for civil rights, socialism, nonviolence, and gay rights.
George Bernard Shaw – known at his insistence as Bernard Shaw, an Irish playwright, critic, polemicist and political activist.
Jane Fonda – American actress and activist. Recognized as a film icon, Fonda’s work spans several genres and over six decades of film and television.
What does thinking about your heroes and naming them do for you?
Thanks – Michael (he,him)
