Your Daily Practice
by Michael Feeley
I HAVE A MORNING practice that begins with a fresh cup of hot coffee, watching the sun rise out the ocean, and then
several minutes of meditation. It includes these words:
May you be well, Michael Feeley.
May you be safe dear friend
May you live in joy and peace, my love.
The ritual centers me and reaffirms my purpose here on Earth and the direction of my heart and work – to serve others – teaching and learning – helping people live their best lives and do work they’re proud of.
Here is a person I admire and echo who has a similar morning practice – the Dalai Lama:
May I be a guard for those who need protection,
A guide for those on the path,
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those to cross the flood;
May I be a lamp in the darkness,
A resting place for the weary, and a healing medicine for all who are sick.
For as long as Earth and sky endure, may I assist until all living beings are awakened.
What daily practice do you have?
Thanks – Michael (he,him)
