Why Cut Corners?

Why Cut Corners?

by Michael Feeley February 10, 2025

“We can always cut corners if we have to.” These words stood out in a recent meeting and made me ask, “Why not plan ahead so you don’t need to cut corners?”

How can you create a solid strategic plan that includes time, money, and failure? Why wait until the last minute to rush in and try to save the day by cutting corners?

Cutting corners means doing something fast, easy, and the cheapest way possible, and that can affect quality and cost more time to roll back and find a quick solution to a problem.

What happens if you cut corners for children’s education?

Cut security corners – customer service – health benefits – recycling – policies on immigration and DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion).

How can you accomplish what you hope to so you can get to where you want to go without having to fix or patch and cut corners?

What is the flip side to cutting corners?
