What’s a Holiday for You?
by Michael Feeley
A holiday isn’t just time off—it’s a day made sacred. Special. Set apart for what matters most.
Whether Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, or simply a day of rest—it’s time made sacred by our intention. We honor what matters: gratitude, connection, peace.
Today, we pause. We stop the hustle of proving our worth through productivity. We reject the stress of “always on.” We choose stillness over striving. This is revolutionary for anyone who’s spent years believing our value comes from what we do rather than who we are.
What makes any day a holiday? It becomes meaningful, sacred in its own way—a pause that honors celebration, rest, and community.
You don’t need perfect circumstances or perfect people around your table. You need only this moment, this breath, this choice to honor what matters.
Peace isn’t the absence of struggle. Joy isn’t the absence of pain. Both exist alongside life’s complexity when we make space for them.
Today’s Holiday matters. It is sacred, holy for some because you decide it is.
That’s the gift you give yourself and everyone you touch today.
Merry Christmas! You are enough. You always have been.
