Talk Out Loud Will You Please?
by Michael Feeley
TALK TO YOURSELF and talk out loud. It’s perfectly OK and a great way to spend your time.
Out loud is a natural and great skill to practice and habit to build.
You’re working things out – taking what’s on your mind and speaking it aloud until it makes sense; until you’re comfortable with your thoughts and words, and you’ve got a solution you’re proud of and ready to share.
Frequently I’m verbally sprinting out loud with words and ideas – ranting – rifting – improving to get clear and organized.
I’m trying to understand myself and my feelings, which is challenging because feelings are hard to describe and give form.
I talk out loud to connect, communicate, collaborate with other people – to help others understand what I believe –
my core beliefs – facts – the truth I see and live.
We all talk to ourselves all the time because we’re always thinking.
I often talk aloud when I meditate in the morning. It’s my intentional time to center myself and get some answers –
self-understanding – self-reflection – self-awareness.
You too can create this universal habit of talking aloud and see how it empowers you to express yourself about many things you want to say and matter.
I take notes too. That’s how all of my Dailies are born.
This quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson also springs to mind:
“What you are shouts so loudly in my ears, that I cannot hear what you say.”
Talk out loud will you please? You’ll feel free and it will also give people something to talk about too and that’s how change happens in yourself, in others, in the community, county, state, country, world.
