Surprise!
by Michael Feeley
THE WORLD IS a surprising place.
I live on the Dutch Caribbean island of Saba, and we are honored to have Mount Scenery here – The highest point in
The Netherlands – 2,910 feet tall/887 meters.
I look right at it every day from my front balcony.
Saba and Holland are approximately 4,353 miles/7,006 kilometers apart.
For me, it makes for wonder and delight and big pride that Mount Scenery, on Saba (a five square mile island and the smallest, special municipality of Holland) is the highest point in Holland.
And to climb the highest mountain in The Netherlands, you’d have to come to Saba and hike to the top, which is highly possible and will fill you with awe over the stunning beauty of Saba.
Where do you find a surprise in the world around you?
Take a fresh and in-depth look and see what you come up with and what it does to you?
(We also have the shortest commercial runway in the world – another surprise and another Blog for another time.)
Thanks – Michael
