Signs and Symbols

by Michael Feeley
Yesterday morning, a red-tailed hawk flew past my desk window and perched on a tree 20 feet away. Magnificent wingspan and sitting stature! He stayed for a long time, and I lived in wonder, looking at this being’s majesty, strength, and grace.
Red-tailed hawks have often appeared in my life for many years.
The red-tailed hawk symbolizes good fortune, success, and prosperity. They are messengers of protection, direction, and good tidings.
Seeing a red-tailed hawk is a sign of positive change and a willingness to be open to opportunities.
They are the sacred protector spirit of the Cherokees. Their feathers are used in ceremonial events and in headdresses.
I value the presence of this red-tailed hawk and its symbolic significance for my new book, The Next Act – A Complete Guide for Career Change, Professional Reinvention, and Finding Work That Matters.
I’m hoping for success… good tidings… and definitely open to opportunities.
What spirits and symbols show up in your life, and why do you think they do?
