Service for Complaints
by Michael Feeley
Good service is about caring. It’s about listening. It’s the desire and commitment to understand what a person wants and needs to be happy, to meet their expectations, and to find solutions to a problem for their well-being. It includes compassion and offering hope. All these things connect us to others.
Complaints are opportunities for building success and trust and growing lasting, beneficial relationships unless the complainer only wants to complain and doesn’t honestly want a solution. Then, it would be best to move on.
It’s wise to ask – What is a sincere complainer looking for?
How may I serve you?
How can I help?
What do you want?
What matters most?
Where can I encourage you at this time?
What is goodwill?
How can you change complaint into satisfaction, peace, and joy?
