Resume Talk
by Michael Feeley
I’M TALKING RESUMES to many people these days because they’re looking for new jobs.
People want to be happy at work, to do work they love, and with the pandemic still around, lots of people choose to work from home for safety and peace of mind and heart, not to commute, and to be close to loved ones.
Don’t let a resume bury you in fear and dread. Instead, have fun creating your resume. You have so many creative choices and you’re in control of your life and dreams.
A resume tells your story.
It’s a document that presents who you are to the outside world, your abilities, and your experience in one or two pages. Truthfully. Passionately.
Webster defines a resume as:
“A summing up; a summary… a statement of a job applicant’s previous employment experience, education, etc. “
A resume has also been called a CV, in Latin, “Curriculum vitae”… loosely translated means, “the course of my life.”
I much prefer that.
Go and tell your story. People want to know you and talk, and hire you because of who you are and what you offer with your skills and life experience.
Your work can change people’s lives!
