Resentment Can Be an Opportunity
by Michael Feeley
Hold on to resentment if it does you any good, or relax and release it.
Sometimes, we have stories running inside of us about other people and things. They’re a nugget of bitterness, irritation, anger, and unhappiness.
One way to change this (if you want) is to see the truth about your particular resentment. Knowing the facts can help you replace resentment with positivity, good feelings, and even kindness.
If resentment is a fact, you can turn it into accurate criticism.
Ask:
What do I resent?
How true is my resentment?
What happens to resentment when I scientifically understand and describe it?
Once you see the truth, you can make a choice. Keep resentment and let it eat at you, or change it to something better for yourself.
Why be run and ruined by resentment when the truth can be your answer to relief, peace, emotional freedom, and happiness?
Carrying resentment only hurts you.
Think about this:
What if what you resent about a person, situation, or thing is truly how you want to be and live? Perhaps they are being authentic, and you are not?
Resentment can be an opportunity for you to be true to yourself.
