Reinvent is Different from Reset
by Michael Feeley
When you decide to build a new career because you want to or have to because you may have unfortunately lost your job or know it’s time to move on, you begin to reinvent yourself.
What do I want to do?
What are my skills, training, and life experiences that are highly valuable wherever I go?
That’s different from the choice to stay where you are and reset how you see and work at your present job, choosing to see it with fresh eyes, to begin again and get back to the excitement and purpose you had on your first day of working where you do now.
In both cases, you are recreating yourself in some way. Doing work on you and your career.
Both are a change of mind and heart.
It’s challenging work to reinvent or reset yourself so please remember to do it with love and be kind to yourself despite the pressure and concerns you will experience.
Change is possible, and you have unlimited choices and opportunities to consider.
