Making Money
by Michael Feeley
What will people pay you for?
What services, products, skills, experience, and attitudes are people in need of and will hire you to do?
Learning yoga, weeding a garden, washing your car, organizing your taxes, editing your book, cleaning your home, giving legal advice, managing your finances, delivering groceries.
Understanding your strengths and offering them to others is key to self-improvement and personal growth, including how much money you make.
Know what you’re good at and find ways to share your skills with those who need them.
Build a business and a reputation.
Once, I had a day job cleaning an apartment. The people liked my work so much that they referred others to me, and I created a business. I had a specific number of clients five days a week. I was my own boss. The money was off the books. I was free to come and go as I wanted. I earned a good living with my skills.
Set your prices because they state your worth. Earn the money you deserve for your labor. Never undersell yourself. You are doing the work.
Be smart when choosing your clients. They are your future.
