Make Yourself Indispensable
by Michael Feeley
WHAT KIND OF WORK do you do? Average – just what’s expected and gets you by and through the day?
Or
Remarkable work – giving all you have because that’s who you are and that’s what’s deserved.
How do you show up – mediocre or masterful?
Indispensable is what I aim for because quality matters, and I want people to count on me, keep hiring me and pay me for
the exceptional service I give – to have people feel – “No-one gives me what I get from you. I need and want you.”
That’s why I’m continually reinventing and improving myself and… doing work I love!
These words by Seth Godin describe precisely what I mean:
“To be indispensable is to do work your boss couldn’t imagine. It means that you’re human, an independent actor, an artist, someone who connects and makes a difference. These people have genuine job security because what they do is scarce.”
Thanks – Michael
Please share this with your tribes and let’s each be indispensable.
