Limiting Beliefs
by Michael Feeley
We each have blocks that try to limit us. I say try because if you go after seeing the truth – understanding what stops you from being all you can be – you can break up those road blocks, let false beliefs go and live free.
A limiting belief is something you choose to accept about yourself, life, other people or the world that limits you in some way. (A false opinion or judgment.)
Examples:
“You can’t change after age 40.”
“You have to have a college degree to get ahead and be successful.”
“Women are not equal to men.”
Ask yourself questions and flush out the limiting belief:
- Where did you get that belief?
- How does that belief limit you?
- How do you know that belief is true?
- What evidence do you have to support that belief?
- How well is that belief working for you?
- How can you let that belief go?
Question everything. The answers will get you unstuck; break up your fears and doubts; enable you to change and take new action steps for your growth and happiness.
Why believe anything that limits you?

Where would we be if people still believed the world is flat?
