Learn from an Enemy
by Michael Feeley
There is a quote by the Dalai Lama that I marvel at and learn from:
“The enemy is a very good teacher.”
Begin by defining the enemy for yourself. What does it mean? What are the facts? Why is there this enemy?
Perhaps it’s a bully at school or work, a boss, a teacher, a government official, another business, a rule, a law, or anyone or anything that disrupts or harms, including your personal enemy resistance.
Once described, discover what you can learn. Use that knowledge for good.
What is the value of an enemy?
How can the enemy, within or without, help us create change for the betterment of humanity – your fellow man, fellow traveler in life?
Study and learn from any antagonist in the past and present. The enemy can change into a protagonist.
