Lead – Don’t Wait

I SPOKE WITH a person who is considering returning to school. She wants to be a book editor and a writer. She writes well. She said she needed to get her master’s, get an internship, climb the ladder, and pay her dues to get what she wanted.
I asked – Why wait? Why not go after what you want now – edit and write?
– Do the work. Try. Act. Start.
– Put up a website and show your work.
– Edit, write, and publish daily to let people know you exist and have skills.
– Seek out your clients – the people you were born to serve with editing and writing.
Too often, we feel stuck and hide in the status quo process of the dos and don’ts of getting what we want. We follow the herd, stand in line, wait… on… hold… when we could make a different choice: Ask for What You Want – Create Your Opportunities – Don’t Delay Your Happiness and Success.
Make the choice to lead.
Usually, we stop ourselves from getting what we want.
