How Do You Want to Live at Work?
by Michael Feeley
How active, engaged, enthusiastic, and inspired are you at work? Or – Are you just barely showing up, bored, or maybe even burned out?
Since we each spend a lot of time working, shouldn’t it be pleasurable?
We’re back to the fundamental, lovely question:
What do I want?
That leads right to the question:
What will make me happy?
You have an instant answer, so please write it down to see the words. Land, look and linger with the facts, reassess, and decide what to do. Only you know, and that is a gift – knowing you have a choice and the ability to make change happen.
You have two choices: Stay stuck and do nothing, or take action and do some work to get unstuck.
What do you like in your present work?
What is working well?
What do you hate, and how can you shift this emotion into some peace and pleasure?
Make your action step for change simple and achievable in one day.
What will you do?
When will you do it?
How will you hold yourself accountable, that you did what you said and planned to do?
What is your next step for the next day, the day after, and the day after that? Day 1… day 2… day 3… day 10… day 21… day 35…
