Honor Your Spirit
by Michael Feeley
Your spirit is that ineffable essence that makes you distinctly you—the vitality that pulses beneath everything you think, feel, and do.
It’s not something you can hold in your hands, yet you feel it most profoundly in moments of deep joy, quiet and fierce determination, or unexpected resilience.
Think of spirit as your inner flame. It’s what carries you forward when logic says to stop. It’s that active voice that tells you to try again, to reach out, to create something meaningful.
Your spirit encompasses your deepest values, your authentic responses to life, and the unique energy signature you bring into every room and every connection with people.
When someone says “you have spirit,” they’re recognizing something remarkable: your aliveness, your courage, your refusal to be diminished. They see the light in your eyes when you talk about what matters to you. They feel the warmth of your presence when you show up fully.
Too often, we’ve been taught to dim our spirit—to be smaller, quieter, more conventional. But your spirit wasn’t meant to be contained or apologized for. It’s meant to burn and roar brightly. To be unquenchable.
Describing your individual spirit means knowing:
What makes me feel most alive?
When am I most myself?
What do I stand for when everything else falls away?
Your spirit could be mighty and protective, gentle and nurturing, playful and curious, or quietly steadfast. Perhaps it’s all of these at different moments.
The magic happens when mind, body, and spirit align—when your thoughts, actions, and inner truth move as one. That’s when you access your most powerful, empowering self. That’s when you’re truly alive.
Your spirit is always with you, waiting for you to release and honor it. Permit yourself to let it burn and inspire.
