Give Yourself Gratitude Credit
by Michael Feeley
Give yourself credit for the things you do. Thank yourself. That’s what I mean by gratitude credit.
We’re often busy and forget to recognize our abilities and celebrate our successes for how we set measurable and achievable goals, remembering not to dwell on mistakes but rather to learn from them and remain positive. Taking responsibility for your choices and actions is a form of gratitude credit.
Live in the moment. Value yourself now. Not in the past or the future. Give yourself honest, accurate praise and appreciation for your work, skills, and where you succeed daily or over time.
Be scientific and present the truth and the facts about your ‘self.’ Write all this down so it’s tangible. As you create a journal of self-gratitude, you’ll experience the good effects of gratitude credit with the results of improved self-confidence and self-kindness.
Avoid negative self-talk and blame. Counter it with empowering words and self-celebration. When you celebrate your successes, your brain releases “pleasure chemicals,” like dopamine and serotonin, which positively affect your entire being.
Surround yourself with inspiring people who support you and encourage your self-gratitude.
You deserve happiness and prosperity; personal gratitude credit will enhance self-love and respect.
For me…
– I’m grateful for my commitment to write and publish daily.
– I’m grateful for my coaching knowledge, which helps people create change in their lives and work.
– I’m grateful for my passion and creativity for gardening.
– I’m grateful I love organization and excel at it.
– I’m grateful I have feelings for other people and like to help others live well.
Remember – You’re allowed to be a credit to yourself.
