Equity – Racial Justice
by Michael Feeley
“EQUITY – The guarantee fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement while at the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of some groups.” (Definition by Hella Social Impact)
Where have I been racially unjust to other people?
I’m looking at this in myself – deeply, with meticulous details, facing and opening up personal memories and instances in my life because I have not been racially just.
I’m not alone in this demanding, emotionally raw, and rewarding work where I feel shame, genuine regret, and great hope and gratitude for this vital awareness and change.
I thank the Akimbo Learning Organization and especially Hella Social Impact for their courageous and impactful work!
They use their lives, knowledge, and hearts to create racial justice in business, organizations, and individual lives.
I’m honored and proud to be working with them.
Yes. There is change as I remove fear and anger. I have the new opportunity and commitment to continue this work and change in myself and the world.
It matters to me that I treat all people with equity. People deserve racial justice. It’s our natural birthright to feel free and respected throughout our lives, where and how we choose to live and work.
Thanks – Michael (he, him)

I think you’ll see value here too – Respect and Contempt has Consequences.
